Hello,
I recently found a Guzheng, and do not know much about it. It was sitting next to a garbage chute at my apartment complex, and at the time I didn't know what it was. I thought that it was some kind of harp, and decided it was too beautiful to be thrown away. I rescued it, and after some internet research, I learned that I had adopted a steel-string Guzheng. I would like to know more about it (how old it is, what quality it is, and what it's approximate value is) and was hoping someone on this forum could tell me more about it.
I took some pictures, and they are available on photobucket:

The instrument does not appear to be damaged in any way, and I found it in the hard case. Even if it turns out that this particular instrument does not have a lot of fiscal value, I'm glad to have found it and learned something about this instrument. They really are beautiful. =)
Thank you to any insight you may have. |

These old Taiwanese steel-string worth nothing, but some of them sound beautiful. (The reason is almost every household in Taiwan has one of these old guzhengs. Therefore, you see at least hundreds of them on Taiwan Yahoo Auction selling at $10-$50.)
I recently got one that's older than this for $33. It sounds nice! |
