Li Meng
Li Meng is a famous guzheng performer.  She is a descent of Zhuang
minority born in Guangxi.  She started learning guzheng, violin, and erhu
at a very young age.  In 1977, she entered the Central Conservatory
Music majoring in guzheng and received training from Li Wanfeng, Cao
Zheng, Hong See-Hwa, Zhang Yan, He Baoquan, and many folk
musicians.  After she graduated in 1982, she stayed in the Central
Conservatory Music to work as a professional educator.  In 1984, she
passed the exam for the master degree program majoring in Guzheng Art
Performing in Central Conservatory Music and became the first student to
receive a master degree from Central Conservatory Music.

Li Meng is very talent in guzheng performing.  She studied in detail the
styles of each music schools, and she is able to combine all the good
parts of each school and created a style of her own.  The album she
publishes includes “High Mountain Flowing Water”, “Learn from me –
Chinese Guzheng learning Lessons”, “Famous Songs of Chinese
Guzheng”, and many textbooks.

Li Meng is also a dedicated educator.  She has trained many young
guzheng performers include Yuan Sha, and Sun Zuo.  She has received
the “Gardener Award” from the government many times for her dedication
in education.
