Luo Jing
Luo Jing was born in Shanghai in 1973.  She started to play guzheng at
ten years old under the tutorage of the well-known soloist and educator
He Bao-quan and Sun Wen-yen.  When she was 13, she became a junior
of Shanghai Conservatory.  After graducation, she entered Shanghai
Chinese Classical Music Orchestra.

Owing to her early strict and authentic training, Luo Jing is solid in skill
and delicate in artistic expression.  With the co-operation of famous
composers He Zhang-hao and Zhou Cheng-long, she won her fame by
presenting the new pieces such as “Woe for Lin’an”, “Jasmine
Fragrance”, “Delicate Thought for Li River” and “Spring in Miao
Mountain”, all of which now among her repertory.

Miss Lou has distinguished approaches to the understanding and
handling of the traditional as well as new masterpieces.  Her
performances win the praises of professionals and critics alike and won
her many prizes.  When she was 12 years old she took part in the
“Shanghai Children’s Competition for Musical Instruments” and won the
second prize and the prize for “Shanghai Creative Playing Competition”.  
In 1989 she won the first prize in “ART Competition of Chinese Traditional
Musical Instrument”.  

In 1993 under the invitation of the recording companies in Shengzheng,
Hong Knog and Taiwan, she presents the result of a series recording
“Famous soloists Play Well-known Masterpieces” and many other
personal collections.  Her playing is considered by professionals and
critics as “beautiful and sonorous sound, easily flowing melodies, perfect
skills, especial in Presto.”
