China from August 18th to 21st. This event is host by Chinese
Guzheng Music Association and Yangzhou City Government. It is
held every 4 years staring 1986.
The 6th Chinese Guzheng Art Conference will focus discussion on
new compositions, new techniques and new instrument making
technology developed since the 5th Conference. There will be
separate seminars on composing guzheng pieces, guzheng
performing, teaching and guzheng making. Concerts will be held
nightly. There will also a guzheng exhibition provided by the sponsor
factories.
Since the 1st Chinese Guzheng Art Exchange Conference in 1986,
the population of guzheng players has increased from a few
thousands to over a million people. Guzheng has become the most
important instrument in Chinese music. Talented young musicians
come out ever year, great compositions have been written, as well as
more advance and innovative techniques have been applied in
making the instruments, the Chinese Guzheng Art Conference have
served to promote the music of guzheng instrument.
