The 6h Golden Bell Award has concluded on Nov. 1st at Nanjing. This
year the students from Central, China and Shanghai Music
Conservatories have taken most awards as usual.
Starting from this year, the folk music instruments section of the Golden
Bell Award Competition will be taken place in Jiangsu Province. The
competition is held every two year on different instruments. This year,
the guzheng and erhu competitons took place. Then, the next guzheng
competition will be in 4 years later.
All the competitors have passed school selection as the first round.
Over hundred competitors who got selected were sent to Nanjing on
October 27th when the second round started. Only 30 competitors
moved on to the semi-finals that took place on October 29th. In another
2 days, 13 finalists remained.
During the final round, all competitors had to play either Eternal Sorrow
of Lin'an or Cloud's Tear along with another modern composition.
After a tough competiton, Song Xinxin from China Music Conservatory
won the gold by playing both Eternal Sorrow of Lin'an and Cloud's Tear.
Su Chang and Fan Ran from Central Music Conservatory took 2nd
place. Liu Le, Cai Shanshan and Liu Yin wond the bronzes.
