Scarlet Bird brand of the Xi'an Conservatory of Music is the most respected brand that follows the traditional ways of making guzheng.

This beautiful instrument Model #830 is made with paulownia wood thats natural air-dried for at least 8 years .  The factory increases the thickness of the soundboard to present a much clear, solid and punchy sound quality.

This beautiful instrument is made of paulownia wood that's naturally air-dried for at least 5 years. The frame and bridges are made of mahogany. It is one of our professional models that offers a deep and full sound.

The design of its body structure is unique. The body board, made of paulownia (pao-tong) wood that naturally grows in Henan Province, has been artificially hollowed out in the middle, which greatly improves the sound quality of the instrument. In other words, it takes almost an entire tree just to make one single guzheng.

First, a thick piece of Tong tree wood that is the same size as the body is needed. The back of this wood is engraved with sound grooves. There is no strut in the acoustical resonator in order to guarantee that the sound waves are unimpeded.

Secondly, the board's radian is naturally formatted so that the trace and pores of the wood will not be artificially distorted. When playing the "Zhuque" Zheng, its board vibrates regularly, producing a clear, bright, magnetic sound and a unified timbre.

Thirdly, the thickness of the board is determined based on the different parts of the tree for the high, middle, and low ranges of sound. These three parts can function separately as well as coordinate in harmony, so that the effective lingering sound will not easily drain and the volume will increase with good acoustics. The sound of the "Zhuque" Zheng has a stereoscopic effect.

This model is hand selected by our professional Yukina at the factory.  All the bridges and strings are fine-tuned and adjusted to ensure the best sound quality.
