This is a custom-made guzheng from Tianyi Factory. Mr. Wang Jianchun's instruments are a favorite among professional guzheng players for their fullness of sound and versatility.
The sound board is selected from the concert grade of air-dried paulownia cut in the quartersawn method. The quartersawn-cut method is known as the best cutting method of sound boards for musical instruments. It provides a more stable and clear sound compared to the flatsawn-cut. The bottom of the sound board is carved with sound grooves to increase volume.
The straight and tight grains of the sound board yield the best concert-level sounds. This instrument sounds full and resonant with strong bass and sweet highs. The middle range is solid and has a clarity that can't be heard in other instruments.
The frame is Burmese rosewood with beautiful wood carving. The wood carving displays the story of the Lady Zhaojun. One of the ancient beauty in China. The characteristics of this guzheng is sweet, clean and rich.
